Recipe book from our baking for the NHS during lockdown

She and her son Josh collected from us nearly every day and delivered carloads of scones, beautiful cupcakes, cookies, brownies, fudge, jam – whatever we’d managed to get the ingredients to make! – to Lavender Catering in Bookham, who were adding them to their supplies of NHS lunches. Then the demand went to a new high, as we were asked to bake enough to supply the Wingman initiative as well – lounges set up for the NHS by furloughed airline staff.

It was a great group to be part of and a wonderful way to feel connected and just a tiny bit useful during lockdown. (Wasn’t so good for the waistline, but there you go!)

The book is available at £9 in Daisy Maison in Station Parade, East Horsley, with profits being donated to healthcare charities. Fab recipes, sweet and savoury, ranging from nice and simple to a bit more involved – but all tested many times! Can’t wait to try the one for healthy flapjacks!
